This coming Monday 31st of Aug is International Overdose Awareness Day.πŸ’—πŸ–€ It’s the time of year that we shine a light on places that are often left in the dark, by supporting those with lived experience of overdose, remembering those no longer with us, and spreading awareness about harm reduction.

So What Can I Do?

πŸ€“ Read up on overdose - get familiar with what to look for & how to respond. For info on different kinds of overdose, including stimulants πŸ’Š visit: overdoseday.com/overdose-basics

πŸ’œ Attend an OD Awareness event to support survivors & loved ones.

β›‘ Get your Naloxone training & carry it with you! Many people think Naloxone (which reverses opioid overdose) only matters to folks who use opioids, and that if you just like your bevvies & blow - you need not worry. But remember when fentanyl was being sold as cocaine not long ago? Fent is a highly potent hospital grade opioid and a line of that after a few drinks would not end well. You never know when Naloxone might save a life.

For your free Naloxone + training visit our Open Clinic on Crown st: nuaa.org.au/open-clinic-on-crown
Or call NUAA to find a participating chemist near you:
